Biblical Counseling is about changing the desires of the heart. Sin is rooted in idolatrous desires. When we sin we believe that our idols will bring us happiness and satisfaction. These idols may be good desires that we want too much and are willing to sin to get it. Or, they may be desires that are sinful in any amount. Biblical Counseling addresses idols of the heart and leads the counselee to see how a greater love ,awe, fear, treasuring, and delighting in God replaces those idols.
